Well sometimes you need the team!

This past weekend in St. Louis was no exception...the new Pirate dragster needs some TLC, while the weather did not help anything we just did not have an outstanding weekend at the Jeg's Super Quick Series first race. After qualifying 15th with a fine 4.59 second time at just over 150 mph the cool temperature took it's toll on high horsepower cars and the pirate could not get the traction it needed soooo we got beat. There is always next race right?

So with our tails tucked between our legs we got out Madison's Jr. for the first time of the season...it will barely run! Dhooooo.

Work, work, work thanks to some great friends in the pit area we deem it hurt but not dead, well I guess that is just what Madison needed to hear as she sent them packing. Racing against kids her age really suits her and bad running car and all, walla the first final of the year for the Ellison Racing team. The final was great and Madison drove excellent but just missed a perfect light by .002 thanks for making a cold, rainy, nasty weekend pretty neat Madison!

The Ellison racing team consist of 13 time NHRA divisional race champion Lynn Ellison and his 11 year old daughter Madison who is, as of right now, way the best racer of the two, lol. Please visit www.racepirate.com for more information.

I gotta go where it's WARM! I know Jimmy Buffet wasn't thinking about me when he penned that but it's my new theme.

We tried going to the TCI Tenn-Tuck's a few weeks ago but cold-rainy weather kept the racing to a minimum, we did make it down the track a couple of times in the new racepirate dragster and it is already faster than anything we have ever had it is going to be one BAD race car. This weekend we are going to see what it is made of, the first JEG'S super quick race is in St. Louis, we need to finish one spot higher this year as we were runner-ups in the championship standings in 2007, this marked the 5th time we have finished second in a NHRA divisional points chase, did I mention how much second really sucks! lol. Anyway we are going to have a great time under the arch and hopefully will teach everyone a little about how Pirate's really roll!

This weekend will also mark the first race for Madison, she was runner-up in St. Louis last year, yeah-Madison. One of the neat things about this race is she actually gets to race in her age group11-13 instead of having to race kids of all ages, either way she is pretty cool for an 11 year old.

The Ellison Racing team consist of 11 year old Madison Ellison racing in the NHRA junior dragster division, last year she won 4 races in 8 finals, she races with her 4-time NHRA National event winning father Lynn Ellison who is...slightly older. Together we travel as a family with wife Shannon and youngest daughter Mallory learning about racing, winning, losing, hard work, dedication and each other. It is a great way for our family to be together and that is the real reason for doing this stuff we call drag racing!

Visit www.racepirate.com for more information, please visit our marketing partners websites as they are the only reason we can do this at the level we can and they have the best services and parts available anywhere.

Wow, 2008 here we go!

After last year and all of the cool things we accomplished, like Madison winning her first race then 3 more....Lynn being in 8 finals and finishing 2nd in the Jeg's Super Quick series what could we do to top that? JUST TAKE A LOOK! The RacePirate is coming to a race track near you.

Yep, we have a complete new car and a cool new attitude for 2008, the car turned out fabulous! It is a Undercover Chassis finished by new sponsor www.dragstersforsale.com what an awesome job they have done on this car it is immaculate. Then it went to Twist and Shout paint to lay down some of the best paint I have ever seen and I've seen lots of paint jobs, but the thing that makes it pop is by David McGary at DMC graphics and check out that cool pirate that everyone is going to be talking about. It is really a cool car. Hopefully we will have this thing in the winner's circle pretty soon but check our new website www.racepirate.com for all the updates.

Madison's car is just like it was last year with major sponsorship from WKTG 93.9 Power Rock, she has been working hard on her driving and looks forward to topping last years 4 big wins and 8 final round appearance's.

This weekend will be the first race for us as we will be going to the TCI/Comp Cams 10K races in Bowling Green wish us luck! Or we will make you "walk the plank"!

Team Ellison is a family based drag racing team of drivers: Lynn Ellison and his 11 year old daughter Madison Ellison with crew chiefs wife Shannon and our other daughter Mallory. While we spend lots of energy doing what sometimes seems like a circus we get to spend lots of time as a family enjoying the "thrill of victory along with the agony of defeat" and though the lows sometimes out way the highs in the end it is always a great time.

Team Ellison was at it again this past weekend near Lexington, KY racing at Bluegrass Raceway and as usual, Madison the 10 year-old out shined the old man!

The race was a big Jeg's Super Quick race in which Lynn is leading the points, a first round mess-up did not help matters but we still left with the points lead and with only one race remaining that is exactly where we want to be so keep your fingers crossed, the last race is at one of our favorite tracks O'reilly Raceway in Indy so it should be fun.

After the stupid session in that race, Madison and Lynn were still in 2 other races that night and made Lemonade out of the Lemon's and a few hours later were setting smack-dab in the middle of the Bluegrass Raceway Winner's Circle. Madison waded her way through a very nice size field of junior dragsters to win with a perfect 8.96 run in the finals, way to go girl. Lynn took on the bigger cars and made it to the finals but came up just a bit short to the local track champion so all in all a very good weekend.

For those new to this report, Team Ellison is made up of 2001 NHRA Division 3 driver of the year Lynn Ellison and his 10 year old daughter Madison. And while Madison is just learning, Lynn know just about every way to lose and then invents new ones. But the trials are fun as we gallivant throughout this great country of ours enjoying our passion for racing and have a great time as a family. This year we have been fortunate enough to be in 16 final rounds and have 8 wins as a team and as I always say, not too bad for a 10 year old and an old guy.

August 7th 2007   First Jeg's Super Quick Pole!

This past weekend the Ellison Racing team of Lynn and Madison Ellison made the long trek north to Bunker Hill raceway about 1 hour north of Indianapolis for the big JEG'S Super Quick race this was the 6th of 9 super quick races and the points battle is really heating up so it is a very pivotal race. Well it started great as the Liquor Stop-Hoosier-TCI-Afco-Dynatech dragster flew to a 4.502 @ 151.46 to take the #1 qualifying spot. That's right the ole Liquor Stop car was on the pole, VERY COOL!

The race started fast and furious as we were running in two different classes both Super Quick and Super Pro, all was well until about 10p.m. when the rains came and halted racing. We split the money in Super Pro at 12 cars AND are still in at 4 cars in the Super Quick race which will be finished in a couple of weeks at the next Super Quick race at Chandler Motorsports Park. The points are getting tight as right now we are firmly in 2nd place and if we win one more round of this race we will be leading so it is going to be fun.

Madison race and had a really good outing getting beat at 6 cars but did a great job just the same. Our next race will be the Jeg's Super Quick race in Chandler, IN as we are taking off a weekend to get everything recharged to make a run at the points deal and winning more races for our sponsors.

Thanks to all of those that help and if you would like more information or have any questions please visit www.lynnellison.com or call me at 270-977-1700. This past weekend we ventured over to Chandler Motorsports Park right outside of Evansville, IN for a big 2 day race for both big cars and Jr. dragsters. Well it is a good thing they had Juniors as ole dad kinda was just there. Madison on the other hand was "in the house" and once again had a great run finishing with a 2nd place finish on Sunday, this is her 5th final round and she has 3 wins this year with the WKTG power rock/ Hoosier Tires dragster.

So far this year the Ellison Racing team consisting of 2001 NHRA Division 3 driver of the year, Lynn Ellison and his 10 year old daughter Madison has traipsed throughout the middle part of America racing about every weekend. The results have been great as we have a total of 11 final rounds and 7 wins not to bad for one old guy and a 10 year old.

This weekend we will be "on the road again" going to Bunker Hill, IN just north of Indianapolis for the 6th race in the 9 race Jeg's Super Quick series we we set 4th in points just a few rounds out of the lead. This series is for very fast race cars that travel 0-150 in less than 4.6 seconds, Madison will be competing in the junior dragster class hoping for her 4th big win.

This past weekend was a double Jeg's super quick race for the Ellison Racing Team of Lynn and Madison Ellison. First off was Xenia, Ohio and the super fast racing of the NHRA Jeg's Super Quick we qualified 7th at 4.54 @ 153 mph that was the highlight of the race as a $10 part failure ended our day. After the appropriate repairs it was off to Cincinnati, Ohio for the second Jeg's Super Quick race in as many days. This time the Liquor Stop car settled in the 4th qualifying position at a 4.53 @ 153 mph, the car ran great and we were doing well getting down to 8 cars before losing a very close race.

The two days were somewhat successful as we did tighten the points up slightly and are now only 3 rounds out of the lead with 4 races left so if we can get the driver to drive a little we might just have a shot.

The next race on the schedule is in Bunker Hill, IN right outside of Indianapolis and is again a Jeg's Super Quick race. For more information contact me directly at 270-977-1700
