May 22, 2001: The Pirate steals the show again! Wow! What a start to the new season! Lynn Ellison and his family supported racing team has done almost the unheard of, undefeated in May. After a strong runner up finish at the NHRA 4-wide nationals, The Pirate has been undefeated in NHRA Top Dragster. The first was the super cool Lucas Oil series race in Indianapolis and this past weekend a short jaunt to the Lucas Oil series race at Atlanta, GA to take on the south's quickest and fastest dragsters. After a nice #10 qualifying position of 6.77@202 mph The Pirate slashed his way right to the finals where he defeated Casey Spradlin's blown dragster for the win.
After 2 races in divisional standings, the points are looking about as good as they can, 2 WINS! Woo Hoo, Pirate Nation make some NOISE!
The Top Dragster gets some time off in the next few weeks making room for the buccaneers, daughters Madison and Mallory will be shoeing their Jr Dragsters at the 25th annual SPORTSnationals in Bowling Green, KY looking for the same results as the old man! The old man says he just needs some time off and a boat and some boat drinks!
The Ellison racing team consist of Lynn "The Pirate" Ellison and his wonderful wife/crew chief Shannon Ellison who has been coming up with excellent game plans which usually don't get the best of execution on the race track but sometimes she beats him enough to make it stick. May 01, 2011: 2011 officially the year of the "Pirate" or so we hope. However, so far it's looking like bounty a plenty for the scoundrels though...or at least at the race track. The "Pirate" Lynn Ellison and the Ellison racing team has had an incredible 2011so far in Top Dragster, one of the premier classes in NHRA drag racing, 2 races 2 finals! The latest conquest was the prestigious Lucas Oil Division 3 race in Indianapolis, IN one of the biggest races of the year and the competition was fierce! Over 600 racers and 50 in Top Dragster vieing for the top 32 spots. The Ellison race team qualified nicely in 14th position with an impressive 6.63@205 mph in the 1/4 mile, as Ricky Bobby so eloquently stated "I'm going fast momma!" Race day dawned and when the dust cleared we were in the finest real estate in Indiana, Victory Circle at Lucas Oil Raceway!!!! See pic below, lol!

2011 has launched!!! Wow, can you believe 2011 is into the 2nd quarter, time is flying or am I just getting older? Either way it's time to pay taxes and start racing! The Ellison racing team has had a furious off season building a new race car specifically for Top Dragster for patriarch Lynn Ellison along with getting the 2 juniors ready for drivers Madison and Mallory Ellison, time has been very valuable.

09/20/2010: The leaves are about to fall and this means the end of racing is around the corner but, the Ellison Racing Team is still going strong.
The past few weeks have brought some great racing and some exciting results. One of the highs was a career best et of 6.67 at 204 mph!!!! Wow, who the heck signed me up for this crap? That's way to fast for some dude from KY! Our NHRA Top Dragster season has been really good and the results are showing, right now we are in 4th position in the series and have qualified for the prestigious JEG'S Top Dragster Shootout in Columbus, OH where we will take on 7 other Top Dragsters in a special race to see who is the toughest! I'm liking our chances!!! Along with getting to race in this special race we will also race in the JEG'S SportsNationals, a good showing could vault us even higher in the points. These races are this weekend at National Trails Raceway.
On the Junior Dragster front, it has been all but quiet. Madison has been doing OK but the big news...or not so much, lol, is Mallory our youngest daughter has caught the racing bug and is loving it. Me and her mom, not so much! Actually it is great seeing your kids do something that teaches great values, hard work and sportsmanship....oh and hopefully how to have that winning drive!
The Ellison Racing Team is a family based team that consist of 7-time NHRA National Event finalist Lynn Ellison driving the families NHRA Top Dragster at speeds over 200 mph along with daughters Madison and Mallory who compete in the junior dragster class. Shannon Ellison serves as the Crew-Chief and mentor that keeps everything together. As a family we live, learn and just have fun chasing this dream we call racing.

07/22/2010: IT'S HOTTT! And well I'm just not taking it too well! But all is good, lol! I have been laying down on the job on getting our reports out so sorry about that. The Ellison Racing team has been working hard through the first part of the summer and the returns so far have been great! Well for Madison any way, now if we can just get ol dad to pick up the slack we would be like "peas and carrots"!
So far after a rough start, Madison's junior program is riding on a pretty big hi! In the last 13 times down the track she has been defeated....well NONE! Wow, 3 wins in a row for the WKTG, Hoosier, Dragstersforsale.com dragster! She has firmly jumped into the top 10 in points and is driving really, really well. A lot of the credit is due to JB Strassweg of dragstersforsale.com in helping prepare the car and making it so good, we all know my Jr. Dragster mechanical abilities are limited, at best! Thanks JB!
As for the Pirate Top Dragster, it has been hauling the mail, so to speak. 6.71, 202mph!!!! Wow, we broke to 200 mph barrier....I need a drink, am I crazy? Anyway, the Pirate has been really running well and the driver well not so much but we are in a great position to finish in the top 10 in NHRA points for our division so that is a big deal! Oh and we just won a nice quick 8 race this past weekend so who knows, maybe we don't need to hire a driver just yet!
Looking ahead, we are headed to Columbus and the Lucas Oil NHRA race for Top Dragster and we are in a cool 8 car Jeg's Top Dragster Shootout so that should be a really fun weekend with the big car. Then next week we are taking Madison to Bristol and the O'rielly's JR Dragster Eastern finals, the best of the best will be there and we have a great car and driver so look out big guns!
